The latest film from 20th Century Studios “Death on the Nile” adapted from Agatha Christie’s legendary novel of the same name will be coming exclusively to theaters on February 9, 2022. This mystery film full of emotional conflicts and deadly consequences triggered by obsessive love is directed by Kenneth Branagh who also reprises his role as the iconic detective Hercule Poirot. The film Death on the Nile (2022) also reunites the filmmaking team behind the acclaimed 2017 film “Murder on the Orient Express” namely Michael Green as writer, Ridley Scott, Kenneth Branagh, pga, Judy Hofflund, pga and Kevin J. Walsh as producers, with Mark Gordon, Simon Kinberg, Matthew Jenkins, James Prichard and Mathew Prichard are executive producers.
The story is set in the 1930s when Simon Doyle (Armie Hammer), a handsome young man but has a less fortunate life, falls in love and gets engaged to Jacqueline de Bellefort (Emma Mackey) who was born into the French aristocracy but fell into poverty. To start the new life they dream of, de Bellefort introduces Doyle to his school friend Linnet Ridgeway (Gal Gadot) to get a job. Ridgeway is beautiful, rich and charming, captivating Doyle who then chooses to leave de Bellefort to marry Ridgeway.

Months later, the Doyle-Ridgeway couple embarked on a luxury yacht trip down the Nile with Ridgeway’s friends and relatives who kept many secrets. At the same time, the couple meets the famous detective, Hercule Poirot, who is also on vacation and traveling to Egypt. The story of this seemingly perfect couple suddenly changes when a gruesome murder occurs, and Hercule Poirot must step in to find the mastermind behind this tragic event.
Set in the beautiful landscape of the vast desert and the majestic pyramids of Giza, this dramatic tale of love that ends in misfortune features an elegant cosmopolitan group of tourists with a story filled with mystery and surprises that will keep viewers curious until the very end. Producer Kenneth Branagh explains, “This is one of Agatha Christie’s most complex books; A tragic love story that has many glamorous sides, but is very fragile, dangerous and destructive. It is this theme that we want to present to the audience on the big screen.” The filmmakers were also fortunate to work directly with the relatives of the legendary writer, Matthew Prichard (“Poirot”) and James Prichard (“Murder on the Orient Express”) of the Agatha Christie Estate who provided direction and advice on how to “Death on the Nile.” ” can be packaged into a film of choice for the audience in early 2022.
