Disney+ Poll Uses Fantastic Four Fan Art With Krasinski & Blunt

A new Disney+ poll uses Fantastic Four fan art featuring John Krasinksi as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic and Emily Blunt as Sue Storm/the Invisible Woman. Following Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019, Deadpool, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four fell under the control of Marvel Studios. Long before Kevin Feige & Co. even announced the Marvel Cinematic Universe would implement these characters, fans had real-life husband and wife Krasinski and Blunt on their wish list to lead Marvel’s First Family.

The MCU Phase 4 has been all about developing the concept of the multiverse, where all possible outcomes of quantum measurements are realized in some universe. Spider-Man: No Way Home brought three generations of webslingers together, while Marvel Studios’ most recent outing, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, featured a handful of surprising cameos. In the film, Doctor Strange is brought before Earth-838’s Illuminati, including Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), Maria Rambeau/Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch), Black Bolt (Anson Mount), Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), and Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic (Krasinski). The latter surprise was undoubtedly the result of the aforementioned fan casting and has only exacerbated a desire to see both Krasinski and Blunt play Richards and Storm on Earth-616.

Fantastic Four reboot, the pair’s likeness was even used in a Disney+ poll. A screenshot shared to Twitter by @WGreatPowerBook captures a third-party survey sent out to certain Disney+ customers about upcoming MCU projects. The “invite-only” survey features Mitch Letcher’s Fantastic Four fan poster, which sees Krasinski as Richards, Blunt as Storm, Zac Efron as Johnny Storm/the Human Torch, Liev Schreiber as Benjamin Grimm/the Thing, and Bill Hader as the team’s robot assistant.

It’s worth noting that Letcher’s poster was originally posted online in November 2019, closer to when the MCU Fantastic Four movie was announced and long prior to Krasinski’s Doctor Strange 2 cameo. While the above tweet speculates that Mr. Fantastic’s changed appearance could be hinting at his Earth-616 look, it’s likely the people working on the survey are just arbitrarily using images they feel best reflect projects, official or otherwise. To clarify, it’s clear the poll comes from outside Disney and isn’t conveying any definitive casting information. Unfortunately, director Jon Watts left Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four earlier this year. It’s unclear if this has delayed the project while production and casting details remain under wraps. On top of that, Blunt has admitted in the past that she’s not really into superhero movies – which could indicate that Krasinski’s Doctor Strange 2 cameo was just a fun way to appease audiences and, quite frankly, kept them talking. However, things like the Disney+ customers poll should continue to keep Krasinski and Blunt on the tip of everyone’s tongue when talking about Marvel’s First Family.
