While Leah Greenblatt of Entertainment Weekly gave it a B, “If you’ve been deep into Herbert’s mythology, you’ll love to hear every word whispered. If you come without knowing the difference between a Holtzman shield and a hole in the floor, it’s a longer journey,” says Greenblatt.
The film “Dune 2” is ready to be worked on and ready to be screened at the Venice Film Festival, the director waits for the green light from Warner Bros.
“Dune” director Denis Villenueve has revealed that a Dune sequel, Dune 2, is in the works.

“When you make a film in two parts, when you do the first part, you have to know what you are going to do in the second part. So I would say that I would be very ready to leave pretty quickly,” said Denis Villenueve.
Now, the director is still waiting for the green light from the Warner Bros. production house. Meanwhile, Villenueve will do some things that need to be prepared before the shooting process begins.
“To be able to move quickly with a film of this size, you still need to make the sets, the costumes, so it might take a few months,” he explained.
Denis Villenueve is even optimistic that the filming process can take place next year and hopes that Dune 2 will come to his fans soon.
“If there’s enthusiasm and the film turns green soon, I’d say I’m ready to shoot 2022, for sure. 2022 for sure,” said the maker of the Blade Runner 2049 filmmaker.
“I’d love that I’m ready to go, and I’d say I’d love to bring it to the screen as soon as possible.”
