This film tells the story of a primatologist named Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson) who befriends an albino gorilla, George. George, who was originally docile, turns aggressive with an enlarged body due to pathogens. The pathogen comes from an experimental substance produced by Claire Wyden’s Energyne company (Malin Akerman) that fell from outer space.
The hazardous substance then spread at several points in the United States. Besides George, a crocodile and a wolf were also exposed and became increasingly aggressive. Davis is then contacted by geneticist doctor Kate Caldwell (Naomie Harris) who explains that the pathogen from Energyne will apparently be used as a biological weapon.

Kate knows that because she previously worked at Energyne. They initially tried to make a drug from the experiment. On the other hand, George escapes from the cage and goes on a rampage in the nature reserve. He is then arrested by the government, led by Agent Harvey Russell (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) on a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III.
Meanwhile, Claire and Brett oversee a mercenary’s attempt to capture Ralph, a wolf mutated by a pathogen. However, the attempt fails after the mercenaries are finished off by Ralph.
The condition of the city gets worse when finally George manages to escape and unites with Ralph, coupled with the presence of Lizzie, a mutated crocodile.
