Release Date for After We Fell

What is it about a bad boy? Since the dawn of romantic storytelling, they’ve always held a potent allure, the promise to up-end the life of a normal boring girl (i.e. a featureless default stand-in for the reader) with their troubled past, leather attire and perfectly rumpled hair.

In the YA phenomenon of the After series, one such good-girl-bad-boy relationship has been drawn out into three novels, which have each been adapted into a heart-stopping teen drama film. The third of the saga, After – Chapitre 3, is all set to fall into Australian cinemas on September 9.

If you’re a lovestruck teen fan of the series, you won’t need any further information than what you can squee at in the trailer below. Everybody else, here’s what you need to know: buttoned-up university student Tessa (Josephine Langford) has spent two films in the irresistible orbit of British emo lad Hardin (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), constantly being pulled away from him by her friends, family, and senses. But goddamnit, that UK accent keeps drawing her back in for one more try at romance.

If you’ve read Anna Todd’s series of novels, you may already know whether our tumultuous central couple can kiss and make up this time, like every other time. But judging from the trailer above, it looks like rough seas ahead for Tessa and Hardin, with more sensual and adult shots than ever before: things are changing, the couple is growing up, and who knows whether their love is strong enough to last?

We’re set for at least one more film in the series in the near future, filmed back-to-back with this one and titled (ugh) After Ever Happy, as well as a reported prequel and potentially another sequel. So if you want to stay updated with this never-ending contemporary love story, you’ll need to catch After We Fell first.

New “After We Fell” Clip Shows Chance Perdomo & Some Hessa Tension

If you have been eagerly anticipating new After We Fell content ever since the film’s new trailer was unveiled last month, you’re in for a treat, because we’ve just gotten a new scene from the series’ upcoming third movie.

In the new clip, which was shared to the After movie social channels on August 16, Tessa (Josephine Langford) and Landon (now played by The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s Chance Perdomo) are seen chatting about Tessa’s imminent move to Seattle to join Vance Publishing.

“Well, have you found a place in Seattle yet?” Landon asks his BFF, before adding, “I’m going to miss you, dude. I’m going to have to start watching the Kardashians to fill the drama in your absence.” (Someone please fill Landon in and tell him KUWTK has already ended.) “Landon, I’m only going to Seattle. You are just a FaceTime away and you can always visit,” Tessa then says.

“Between work and school, you are going to be swamped. You are not going to have time for anything like friends or family and especially not people like…” Landon later adds before our protagonist (aka Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Hardin) butts in. “People like who? Me? Is there something you want to tell me or should I ask Landon? Because he seems to know a hell of a lot more than I do.”

Since After We Fell was announced, and as book readers would know, the third installment in the franchise is going to find Hessa’s relationship in deep water but their love story is already slated to continue in After Ever Happy.

After We Fell will be released on September 30 in the United States. Additional theatrical release dates around the world, some before September 30, had also been previously announced.
