Tom Holland hints at ending his partnership as Spider-Man after Spider-Man: No Way Home. He revealed a scene that indicated the possibility of Zendaya and Jacob Batalon appearing one last time in the Spider-Man franchise.
“We have been making this film for five years. We have an amazing relationship, the three of us. We have been together in every activity,” he said as reported by EW, Thursday (14/10) US time.
He continued, “We do every film and media conference tour. So, this one scene, (we don’t know) if this will be the last time (we work together).”
Holland admits the scene is sad and fun at the same time. Because the Spider-Man film series, which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), makes their careers enter the next stage.
“So living that moment with them was probably the best day I’ve ever had on set. I don’t think I’ll ever cry like that again,” he said.
No Way Home is Tom Holland’s third chance to appear as Spider-Man. Tom also said No Way Home was the ‘conclusion’ for the trilogy that began with Homecoming in 2017.
I think if we’re lucky enough to dive into this character again, you’ll see a completely different version. This will no longer be a Homecoming trilogy.”
“We’re going to give it some time and try to build something different and change the tone of the film. Whether that happens or not, I don’t know. But we really treated [No Way Home] like it was coming to an end, and it felt like it.”
