The Black Phone Movie – Review
This is an advance, spoiler-free review of The Black Phone streaming ita, which will debut in theaters on Feb. 2, 2022.
The Black Phone had big shoes to fill. Nearly a decade ago, the team of C. Robert Cargill and Scott Derrickson debuted Sinister. Their terrifying spectacle would strike fear in our hearts, with one scientific study ruling it the “scariest movie of all time.” Five years prior (nearly to the day) to Cargill and Derrickson scaring the pants off ofus with Baguul and several nightmare children, Joe Hill was publishing his short story “The Black Phone.” Now, the stars have aligned and The Black Phone is making its way to the big screen with horror maestros Derrickson and Cargill adapting Hill’s chilling story — and their take thrillingly exceeds the already high expectations they’ve set up for themselves.
The first third of the film follows Finney (Mason Thames) and Gwen Shaw (Madeleine McGraw) as they navigate pre-teen suburban life in the ’70s. Unfortunately for these siblings, bullies and scraped knees aren’t all they have to contend with. In addition to their drunk and sometimes abusive father (played by Jeremy Davies), there’s a kidnapper on the loose in their town, and he’s snatching up little boys left and right. It’s not long before Finney finds himself trapped in the basement of the terrifying mask-wearing Grabber (Ethan Hawke), and Gwen finds herself in a race against time to find her brother before it’s too late
Love Hard Movie – Review
Despite being an easy watch Love Hard streaming ita , the holiday film does leave one wondering if it takes a step too far in rationalising catfishing, and portraying the phenomenon as harmless
Netflix is kickstarting its Christmas rom coms early with Hernán Jiménez’s Love Hard. Natalie Bauer (Nina Dobrev), a columnist living in Los Angeles, is in search of finding her “second half,” and after a series of bad dates, is dejected and tired of the men in Los Angeles. However, she is smart enough to turn these terrible experiences into drama-filled columns for her editor Lee (Matty Finochio).
Natalie’s best friend jumps to her rescue and suggests that she change the settings of her dating app to show men who live far away from LA, and Natalie obliges. Soon, she comes across the profile of Josh (Jimmy O. Yang), an Asian-American who speaks three languages, loves the outdoors and lives 3000 miles away from her. They match. Soon the pair start talking over calls, they exchange intimate details about their personal lives, and even start falling asleep together… virtually.
Natalie is convinced that he might be the real deal. During one of their conversations, Josh mentions how he wished Natalie was with him for Christmas. So of course, Natalie decides to grant him his wish and flies to meet him… only to realise she has been catfished by an introverted man who lives in his parent’s basements and loves making candles. Josh confesses that he had indeed been using his best friend, Tag’s (Darren Barnet) pictures on his profile.
Eternals’ Credits Scene Sets Up Blade’s MCU Future
The post-credits scene of Eternals has a huge surprise with a voice cameo by none other than Blade, but how does it set up his MCU future?
Following the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s tradition, Eternals streaming ita has two post-credits scenes, and while both included surprise cameos, the one in the second scene sets up Blade’s future – and here’s how. With the Infinity Saga now over, the MCU is moving forward with a new phase with a new focus and which will introduce a variety of characters from different sides of the Marvel universe, including its supernatural one. Among these characters is Blade, to be played by Mahershala Ali, and even though he might not arrive in Phase 4, his presence has already been teased.
The MCU’s post-credits scenes also carry the tradition of teasing or setting up characters that will make their proper debut in the near future, and Eternals did so with two very different characters: Eros (Harry Styles), an Eternal and Thanos’ brother, and Blade, the famous vampire hunter and who fans have been waiting to see as part of the MCU. Blade made his big-screen debut in 1998 in the movie simply titled Blade and he was played by Wesley Snipes, who reprised his role in the sequels Blade II (2002) and Blade Trinity (2004). A new version of Blade had been in development since 2013, but it wasn’t until July 2019 that he was confirmed to be coming to the MCU.
