Colonizing Indonesian cinemas since mid-December 2021, the film Spider-Man: No Way Home opens 2022 with unbeatable achievements at the box office.
The number of viewers of Peter Parker and his friends seems to have penetrated 7.5 million viewers. This is an astonishing record considering the capacity per studio in theaters has not been allowed to be 100 percent.
The achievement of the third volume of Tom Holland’s version of Spider-Man led him to become the third highest-grossing film (both local and imported) of all time in the country. He only lost to the Avengers dwilogi.
This achievement feels special because the maximum audience capacity per cinema studio is 70 percent due to the PPKM policy with varying levels from late last year to early 2022.
“With a total daily showtime of still 70 percent pre-pandemic conditions and there is still a 70 percent capacity limitation (aka the industry’s actual effective capacity is still 49 percent) then the achievement of Spider-Man: No Way Home is really crazy,” commented @ talkboxoffice’
After that, this account attaches a list of the highest-grossing films in Indonesia of all time. Avengers: Endgame sits on the highest throne with over 11.2 million viewers.
Avengers: Infinity War ranked runner-up with 8.12 million viewers. He was followed by Spider-Man: No Way Home to open the top three with more than 7.8 million viewers.
Under Spider-Man: No Way Home, there are two local products, namely Warkop DKI Reborn: Jangkrik Boss! Part 1 (6.8 million viewers) and Dilan 1990 which earned 6.3 million people.
As previously reported, Spider-Man: No Way Home is being campaigned for next year’s round of the Academy Awards aka Oscar 2022 in all categories including Best Picture aka Best Picture.
